Daisy is the first born in a family of five. Her father became mentally ill five years ago and burnt his clothes and official documents, before disappearing from home. She lives with her mother, who works as a casual labourer and is unable to pay for the family’s basic needs.
Daisy, like her younger siblings, was a beneficiary of free primary education. Her favourite subjects were Mathematics, Science, Kiswahili and English. She enjoys reading story books and drawing during her free time and would like to become an Engineer.
Despite the challenges, Daisy managed to score 387 marks out of the possible 500 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (K.C.P.E) examination. She was admitted to Starehe Girls’ Centre following recommendations from her Head teacher, Pastor and local chief.
