Emily is second born in a family of three children. She lives with her single mother and siblings. Her mother works as a casual labourer and does laundry for people in the neighbourhood.
Emily received a free primary education and her favourite subjects were Mathematics and Kiswahili. She loves reading story books during her free time and would like to become a Surgeon one day.
Through hard work and determination, Emily scored 392 marks out of the possible 500 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (K.C.P.E) examination. She was admitted at Starehe Girls Centre following recommendations from her Head teacher, Pastor and local chief.
