Starehe supports the the environment

As part of the World Environment Day 2021 the Global Peace Foundation Kenya launched its challenge challenge to initiate through its adopt a tree initiative the 1 M tree growing campaign with focus on the Global Peace County Ambassadors across the 47 Counties in Kenya on the theme; “Ecosystem Restoration and Focus on Resetting our Relation with Nature.” The program which marked the World Environment Day 2021 seeks to support the 10% National Forest cover that target planting of 1.8 billion trees by the year 2022.

The first phase of the program was officially launched at Starehe Girls’ Centre, and graced by dignitaries including Global Peace Foundation Kenya Country Director, Starehe Girls’ Centre Director Sr. Jane Soita, Board of Trustee Dr. Salome Gitoho, and representatives from the PLO Lumumba Foundation.
